Topic today I will share with you how to fix one issue many people got it when using Remote Desktop. That issue is:
The remote session was disconnected
because the license store creation failed with access denied. Please run
remote desktop client with elevated privileges.
The error message you mentioned typically occurs when there is an issue with creating or accessing the license store during a remote desktop session. To fix this error, you can try the following steps:
Run Remote Desktop Client as Administrator: Right-click on the Remote Desktop Client application or its shortcut, and select "Run as administrator." This ensures that the client has elevated privileges and can create or access the necessary license store.
- Clear Remote Desktop Licensing Cache:
- If running as administrator doesn't resolve the issue, you can try clearing the Remote Desktop Licensing cache. Follow these steps:
- Close any open Remote Desktop sessions.
- Open the Registry Editor by pressing Windows Key + R, typing "regedit," and pressing Enter.
Navigate to the following registry key:- Copy HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\MSLicensing
- Right-click on the "MSLicensing" key and choose "Export" to back up the key (for safety).
- After the backup, right-click on the "MSLicensing" key again and choose "Delete" to remove it.
- Close the Registry Editor.
- Restart your computer.
- Retry the Remote Desktop session.
-Verify User Permissions: Ensure that the user account you are using to establish the remote desktop session has sufficient permissions on both the local and remote machines. Make sure the user is a member of the appropriate groups, such as the "Remote Desktop Users" group.
- Check Remote Desktop Licensing Configuration: If the issue persists, it's worth checking the Remote Desktop Licensing configuration on the remote machine. Verify that the licensing mode and licensing server settings are correct.
- Contact System Administrator: If you are connecting to a remote machine managed by an organization or a hosting provider, it's possible that the issue is related to their specific configuration. In such cases, it's best to reach out to the system administrator or support team for further assistance.
πIt's important to note that modifying the Windows Registry can have significant consequences if done incorrectly. Exercise caution and consider creating a backup before making any changes. If you're not comfortable working with the Registry, it's recommended to seek assistance from a knowledgeable professional.
